Q: What should I do before my tattoo appointment?
A: Make sure you stay hydrated the week before your tattoo appointment! Drink water, avoid alcohol and moisturize your skin daily up to your appointment. A few hours
Q: I cant afford the half day/full day rates, will you still tattoo me?
A: Of course! I am always open to working with specific budgets, Just fill out the form and let me know what you’re able to do and we can discuss things.
Q: Do you do touch ups?
A: Of course! I ask that touch ups are done within 6 months to ensure the ink is all relatively the same age and heals at the same rate. If your touch up falls outside of this window, I only charge a small set up fee of $60 to cover shop expenses/supplies. If something has healed weird or poorly due to following the aftercare instructions poorly, I will also charge a small flat rate for a session to fix it.
Q: Can I bring a friend with me to my appointment?
A: Absolutely! You can bring a friend or partner with you. The space in the studio is limited so we ask to keep it to one person.
Q: I’m scared of getting a color tattoo, does it hurt more? Do certain colors hurt more?
A: Color tattoos can hurt more because the area of the tattoo is larger. Color ink doesnt hurt more, however it can start to hurt more than linework as its a larger wound being created on the skin. We can always take breaks or split sessions up into line art and color sessions if needed.
Q: How long after getting my tattoo do I need to avoid water?
A: Your tattoo is a healing wound, so treat it like you would a wound you’re avoiding infection from. My recommended time is 6 weeks, however everyones healing time is different, and can range from 3-6 weeks depending on your individual tattoo as well. I am always happy to get pictures of your tattoo and give you a timeline based on how your healing is progressing.
Q: Can I use over the counter pain medication or numbing cream?
A: Its recommended in the 24 hours prior to your appointment, to not take any over the counter NSAID’s to allow for your body to heal your tattoo best. In the state of oregon, numbing cream is allowed to be applied by clients on themselves, however I generally recommend avoiding them unless absolutely necessary. Please let me know if you’re planning on using numbing cream, as I can recommend safer products, but I will not tattoo you if you’re using a numbing cream I dont know or is applied dangerously.
